Did Google switch their "traffic sources" on March 1?

This is a screenshot from my "traffic sources" > "external websites" in YouTube analytics for the past 30 days.

Green = "Google" (i.e. other Google domains.)
Purple = "Google Search" (i.e. Google search results which link to YouTube videos.)

Something happened on March 1 where "Google" and "Google Search" totally flipped in a weird way. Any of you guys see something similar in your traffic sources? Any idea what happened here? Did I miss a big announcement or something?

Edit: Found the answer. Google Search was previously its own category before March 1st. On March 1st, Google Search was integrated into External Website.

Don't think so:

that's mine from 7th feb to 8th march. I think it might be because youre videos are more "how to"/tutorial related. Maybe there was a spike in google searches for that type of thing?

Do you mean within the "external website" category? If so yes, I'm seeing something similar too.

I have never understood the difference between the top level "Google search" category and the "google search" category from within the "external website" category

Are you google search numbers zero before March 1st? Mine are. That most likely means that Google Search was previously integrated into Google before and now they've separated so you can tell more easily where the bulk of your Google related views are coming from.

Ahh, good point. Yes, my "Google Search" is 0 before March. I thought "Google Search" was always there and "Google" was new, but maybe they just redefined some things to make it a bit more clear? Or maybe I just don't remember what it was before, which is more probable. [DOUBLEPOST=1394423861,1394423789][/DOUBLEPOST]
