Desktop computer query for YT Gamers

Hi all,

I have decided to buy a desktop computer (with external tower and everything), so that I can finally start recording some gameplay and launch my channel.

However, I don't know much about the technical side of things, and I need a bit of advice. I plan to play The Sims 4 and potentially other games on Steam, can you guys advise how I know whether the graphics card will be strong enough? I cannot afford to spend a fortune, but I want to be able to buy a computer that will last for quite a while.

Thank you!

First I would start by looking at exact requirements for the type of games you are targeting. The games will specify "card x and above", etc. Building your own PC is usually the most cost effective option. But in your case, you probably don't want to go thru the hassle of PC building research. There are many options out there but I would look at the Dell Alienware Aurora series. You can get a lot for your money nowadays, they go on sale often too (only buy when on sale!)

Taking into account long term durability and performance at a minimum I recommend an 8th generation i7 processor (these are a significant improvement), 16GB ram, and a GTX1070 (or above). You can build a system on their website, with a pretty detailed breakdown of options.

Just my 02 cents.
