Description revision consequences?

Nope. if you 'a' have low views then you have nothing to loose. Or 'b' lots of views then changing it a little won't hurt as its how people interact with the view. ie. how long did they, watch, where did they go next etc that contribute to how your video is promoted i think. So its not all about all title, desc, and tags. Its driven by behaviour. But no1 knows really.

It could hurt but then again, it could help. When you make changes, YouTube may re-index what they think is the relevance of your video.

It won’t hurt if you’re not getting any views on that video, but if you’re receiving lots of traffic on that video I would just leave it alone

My 2 partner managers advised me not to touch the metadata (title, description, tags) of high-performing videos.
That kind of sounds like a go-ahead to play around with lower-performing videos tho. :o I wonder, on average, how many revisions of tags/descriptions/titles/etc. channels did on a video before it became a high-performing video. :o

On all my high-performing videos, I didn't make any changes to the metadata.

I don't think that changing the video description has much effect on views.

However, changing the title DOES have a big effect, often for the better if you get it wrong/under done first time around.

I don't believe either changes affect search engine rankings.

Been there, done that plenty of times in both instances.

If its a well viewed video - leave it well alone. I have tried to 'improve' on a video that is doing well only for it to tank. I learned my lesson the hard way.
If its not being watched - do with it what you want to get some views. I have changed thumbnails on old videos for them to sky rocket.
