Hey everyone, so I might be stuck in a pickle. I am wanting to start a new channel that I mainly do product reviews, and vlogs on. I currently use either my webcam, C920, or my canon powershot elph 330 hs. Both of these shoot in 1080p but not that good of quality. Both of these do not focus well when I am holding a product up to it, when reviewing it. Maybe my 330 hs auto setting just doesn't do a good job.

So my question is, is there anything I can upgrade too, that will help me, without spending over $350? This is just a hobby, so I don't want to spend over that amount because I don't even know how often I can make the videos. I just want something I can use to vlog and review. The auto focus needs to be well too. I know you get what you pay for, but I was just wondering if there is anything out there that is better than what I have for that low of a price.

I talked with a person, from canon website, and they told me that the 330 is a actually a great camera, to do what I need it to, and if I used more lighting it could probably fix my focus issues. But if I wanted something more look at their point and shoot S series cameras.

I don't do vlogs myself, but I know there's a lot of different threads around the forums regarding cameras. Perhaps try some of those?

Should be plenty in this section of the forum.

I think the Canon person brought up a great point. Cameras with small sensors, like the 330 HS, generally struggle with low light conditions. That does not make it a bad camera. If you add some proper lighting the image quality will probably improve significantly. And it is much cheaper to buy some additional lighting equipment, that will be useful in any case, then it is to buy a new camera.

Ya I am going to try that first. I also ordered a mini tripod instead of using my big one far away. maybe that can help me focus more on myself and not my surroundings since I will be closer.

Thanks for the response. I looked through many threads on the site and couldn't find one that pertained to me.[DOUBLEPOST=1429070119,1429060649][/DOUBLEPOST]Do you think my Galaxy Note 4 would take a better video than the Canon Elph 330 HS? I know the 330 does 1080 at 24fps while the note 4 can do it at 60fps. I don't know about the quality difference or the focus difference though.[DOUBLEPOST=1429110163][/DOUBLEPOST]Been looking in the $250-$400:
Canon S120
RX100
G7 X -little bit more on the pricy side though.
