Decent Camera For Youtube? (Under £120)

I've been using my Canon ELPH 300HS for years now. 3.5 years in fact. You could probably get it locally for about $200USD (that's about $20 over your budget USD so not much). On Amazon, they're going for like $300. Way overpriced, and somehow they're going for more now. Very strange. Try Ebay, or local big box stores, and you can probably get em for $200 max. If you go used, I bet you could do about $100. Good deal. This video is the 1080p at 24FPS, which isn't great for high motion as you can see, but 720p at 30fps is great. Also, if you install CHDK, you can play around with it even more. ;)

Oh, but be advised, without CHDK (the mod) installed, it will limit itself to 10 minutes of record time each file, so you'll have to hit record again for 10 mins, but it's a point and shoot and not for extended recording sessions anyway... Still, it's a decent camera even til today. There is an issue of Lens Error that I've seen, but I haven't experienced it, so just be careful if you go used. I believe it comes with a 1-year warranty.

Personally, I do NOT believe you will succeed with such a low budget to spend on a camera. See, people like quality and for a price that low, quality may be sacraficed. I would recommend getting a couple extra hundred dollars and investing in a higher end camera from eBay Used, like my Nikon D5300. You could tell by my footage I look professional because my camera shoots amazing 1080p 50fps recording. If you do however, wish to stay within your range, go for something 720p with at least 50fps, if that's even possible (I don't know cause I don't study film). Just remember, you get what you pay for and nobody wants to watch a lower quality video when there's thousands of other creators out here providing sharper, fresher content. Maybe if you had $250-$300, I would be a bit more useful to you. Sorry if I come off harsh. My AVI was taken off of my camera and also all of my YT content will show you how good my camera is for around the $500 USD range.

I dont really agree with you... Just do some good research and you will find a very good camera half the price. (and even more things)

Take a GoPro for an example, very good camera but very expensive. everybody want it (media, television etc make you buy it) But what about the SJcam 4000? And there are a lot more low budget stuff.. Just do some good research before buying and you will get some low budget things instead of paying a lot!

Tbh... Can we all just stop obsessing over GoPro's? They're good rugged cameras, but for anything serious that doesn't involve action sports (which is most other things), they are not even close to the best option.

It's like with Beats headphones. They're premium, nice-looking rugged headphones, but they're overpriced and people buy them for the wrong reasons. They want aesthetics and "trends" over actual quality. That's not to say they're bad, but they are, in objective reality, inferior headphones for the price they all go for.

Get what you need for the job, folks. You wouldn't use a point and shoot to film an action movie, so stop using GoPros for filming freakin' documentaries. (Exaggerated, but I think you guys get my point).

It was just an example.. Something like the same you just wrote.. Its al marketing!! But I agree what you just said.. Find something good for what your need, but a lot if thing's can be bought much cheaper.

lol yeah, sorry for the rant. I just have a personal vendetta against all of these brands who favor marketing over performance. I can't blame them for squeezing every last dollar out of their product, but it just sucks that because people see products "A, B and C" the most, they kind of assume they're the best around... But I'll give them one thing, their BS marketing works. :p

There's a reason we see Beats on every celebrity, in like half of all music videos, etc. Sneaky bastards. :/
