I guess so, but it really sucks, they are basically making all channels the same, I think if we ALL managed to go against it, we could stop the change, not just a few thousand but over half of the youtube community, people might think, no point in trying it's not going to work, but it's better than doing nothing! We can BEAT this!!

You do not need a trailer. You can select any video to be the featured one for people that are not current subscribers.

I view it as an opportunity to make a high impact video to get new subscribers. I get to explain the focus of my channel and put it in perspective for the viewer. That trailer only shows up to users who are not already subscribed (or presumably, not logged in).
