Dating & YouTube

Mother of Dragons...Wait...
Alright, so, I wanted to talk to all of you about something that's been going on lately. I've been making videos altogether on YouTube for about four to five years, and it's not even till recently that I started taking it seriously, and actually diving into this whole thing head on. Now, while inspiration, drive, and the resolve to keep making videos can be fleeting at times; it's nice to have a person in your live that supports you, and even more so understands what you are doing what you love.

I've maybe had about three or four "serious" relationships since starting YouTube, and only one of them was semi into it. What I mean by that is that she loved watching videos, and was into the whole idea of it. However, she herself never aspired to be a YouTuber (even if she had the talent). I know that if a person loves you, they should most likely take the time to understand what it is you enjoy, and support you even if they don't quite get it themselves..That being said though. It'd be easier to date another YouTuber..Wouldn't it? Makes ya think, yeah?

Meh it might be easier to date another Youtuber in the sense that they'll understand the time it takes to work on YouTube. But some people are pretty cool about it even if they don't do it themselves

I only ask what others think because I've seen a lot of YouTube relationships end, and it's not pretty. Then again, it never really is. I guess just because we are seeing it through a voyeuristic standpoint, and there are so many people seeing it, it makes it that much more intense? Not only does this person going to lose someone they love, but the fans will be crushed, and sides will be picked, etc.[DOUBLEPOST=1440562426,1440562394][/DOUBLEPOST]Basically, like who gets the kids after a divorce. Only, you have millions of kids to break the news to.

Lol aaaahhh I see what ya mean. Well I guess In that sense if you date another Youtuber it might not be a good idea to let your fans know your dating for kind of awhile. As long as possible till you know if it's something that's going to last.

My girlfriend is my hardest critic. When my videos go big she always says "they're so stupid, why do people watch them?". I'm not sure how to take this lol. Oh well, it can only go uphill I guess

I think that' the tricky part. No matter how sure you can be of something, you don't know what the future holds.

Honestly I couldn't take that kind of response from my boyfriend. That's kind of rude ish I think.haha I don't mind actual critique but not just saying it's stupid. Or even a response like "meh not something I would like to watch but cool that it's doing so well" would be a lot nicer.[DOUBLEPOST=1440562945,1440562856][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah true. But like my BF and I work together. And when we first started dating no one knew till like 6 months into it. Because we had to figure out if it was something serious or just a fling. But now it's all cool :)

That's awesome! :D

It's the risk you take man.... But wether or not your potential other is a Youtuber or not shouldn't really be a factor, unless he or she is like... super anti-Youtube or something.

When she says that I feel like I accomplish something actually... I just tell her "hey, I'm a marketing genius and we have cute dogs"... She just shakes her head...

Here's the video she hates on the most, she is also a big part of it lol. She can't understand how it got so many views, but Ollie is cute so the rest is up to the Internet!
