Posting Mad!
Hi everyone, hope you're all having an amazing, chilled Sunday.

My question is, do any of you also post to Dailymotion as well as Youtube? If so how do you rate your experience and how do your views compare to your Youtube account?

I have just been signed up for there by my MCN so any tips etc would be helpful. I know this is a Youtube based site, but they kind of come under the same category.

Do you have to be signed up by an MCN or can you di it for yourself? Never really used, or even considered, dailymotion so far.

I am pretty sure you can try it yourself. I didn't think about it before today, but then my MCN sent a link regarding being partnered on there too and to sign in through it, so I thought, why not?

It seems to be pretty similar to Youtube, but with less people on, but a hell of a lot more lenient copyright laws and content rules, which I think is a massive plus. You can also sync your current Youtube videos to the site which saves the job of also posting there if you don't want the extra effort. Way I see it is another way for my content to be viewed.

I also believe that with what is happening with Youtube copyright at the moment, that a lot of people will be moving away. Dailymotion is the second biggest in the world, but not yet huge so it gives me a chance to be one of the newer people on there, instead of a small fish in a huge pond on Youtube.

Can you elaborate on this more or is it easier to just get an account and try it yourself?

Honestly I have avoided using dailymotion because the leniency on copyright stuff feels detrimental to me - there's so many TV shows and films just straight-up uploaded to there that it feels like an illegal streaming site rather than a way to share legitimate content.

When you make an account it asks if you want to sync your Youtube content and you select yes, you can sync playlists and individual videos. Takes a while though. You just have to sign in. It emails you when it is done. I am new to the site so don't know the whole ins and outs.

Dailymotion is a good site, but it does not have a lot of traffic. There is nothing wrong with Dailymotion. You could get an audience there. It is a good backup YouTube. I just wished it had more traffic.

I think your thread about what is currently happening on Youtube is what will push sites like this. It just needs one huge person to primarily post on there. Too many people are stuck in the whole I post on Youtube because it is popular thing. My new aim is to become huge and the face of Dailymotion lol.

Dailymotion has all the right features but for now i only see it as a backup for you tube, the only site i see having a chance at overtaking youtube is vimeo

Go for it! You could be a head of a rush if other YouTubers jump ship.

Dailymotion has lesser traffic as compared to YouTube, so I don't use it anymore. Nowadays they have been pushing the copyright laws over there, so I think DM is not really helpful website to get popular and neither to upload anything.
