Crossing the line

Hey Matt!

Everyone seems to want to keep one-upping each other when it comes to pranks and reactions. The bigger, the better?
They are extremely lucky that they didn't get hurt or the people around them didn't get hurt. Say, someone suffering from a heart attack or someone going into an extreme state of panic and doing something irrational, like shooting or stabbing them.

I just find these kinds of 'prank' videos that basically use "Oh it's prank video" as an excuse to be idiots. I have heard of worse.

In this thread: Apparantly, everyone are, according to everyone else, "f*****g idiots" o_o

To the point, though. This is over the line. Faking a potentially life threatening situation? Really?
What kinda scum thinks that is a good idea, and what lack of self insight is required to find that funny?

How would you like someone pointing a gun at you as a prank, tried to run you over as a prank, or deployed a fake bomb during your airplane ride? I'm disappointed that those people weren't knocked out from behind using a chair, shot by security or at least arrested. Entertainment's sake is no excuse to act like an inept idiot causing potentially dangerous or troublesome scenarios.

That's no prank. That's just being an ahole.

Sometimes I wish we would sit down all together and define the word prank, and make it clear that this and such as running up to a guy and punching in the nuts, are not pranks.
But with all seriousness, its the equivalent of screaming "fire" in a filled up theater or "bomb" in an airplane. You dont do that, and that is illegal for a reason. Yes you have your freedom, however your acts endanger and put other people, in bad situations with actions that provoke mostly panic from other people.
And that can endanger people and their lives.
