Hey guys,

So... I guess I need some advice, or maybe a review of my channel? Not sure really what. But anyway, I have been doing YouTube for like 5 years now, and I have lots of good videos uploaded, there are those few that I do have there that are over 50,000 views and one even that passes 100,000 views. But, I don't know, just recently it just seems that my views have been falling off. I mean, I look at a lot of other channels, who also make helpful videos just like I do and have tons more subscribers and views. Some of these channels don't even have as precise tags as me, don't even have any end slides as me, don't even have a good description as me, and tend to still have more subscribers and views.

I mean, I love making videos and helping people and giving people something to enjoy, but like... if not many people are going to watch it, it kind of just discourages me. Could you guys perhaps take a look at my channels, you can see them linked all to the right side of my main channel page. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? I don't know. I've tried watching videos, I been following several YouTube tips from other people that make YouTube help videos and it just seems like they don't work for me as well as I'd like.

Thanks so much.

I think your videos are pretty good, but your channel has no focus at all.

People subscribe for more similar content.

For example, you watch Discovery Channel for documentaries and you watch Animax for animations. Imagine if Animax made animations and included music videos, reality TV shows, Drama series, Horror movies. You'd totally unsubscribe from Animax because there's just too many things that you don't want to see.

Maybe you should focus your videos a little towards a certain genre and keep at it. You might want to make a new channel for that because your current list of videos will just keep confusing new viewers about the concept of your channel.

Some of your other channels e.g. gaming and tutorials looks more focused. Maybe you could work on those! :)

Couldn't agree more with this! As your channel isn't focused on one specific genre like Alex said, your video's success are in a bit of a hit and miss situation... The majority of them won't succeed. However, if you were to have a bit more focus on them then the success is more likely :)

I know I've basically just said what Alex has said but I think it's better if you know that more than one person can identify the problem. :)

Thanks for the reply guys, and I've already known that problem, which is why I have created the other channels in the first place. The main channel that you're talking about that is too unfocused in now just used for channel updates, and random stuff that doesn't fit in my other four channels.

Still though, I've had both my gaming and tutorials channel for like 7-8 months now, and I still have videos that have been up for like a week to a month that still only have like 50-90 views. And that's the part I don't understand. Believe me, I know all about the whole focusing thing, and the whole call to action thing, and all that stuff, I've watched Reel SEO, and several other channels for YouTube tips. But even with that, and implementing those things, I still don't get much traffic.

Could it be that it takes longer than 7 months? Could it bee that I need to upload more? I mean as long as some of you see this as normal, and don't think I am doing anything wrong, I am fine. I guess I'm just second guessing myself on the content I make because some of those videos don't really get the traffic as some others do, and I feel like the subscribers that I do have, don't really follow up on new videos, so I feel like I am doing something wrong.

Or perhaps I am just over thinking and it takes a bit more time?

EDIT: I know that a lot of other people have channels too, and they've been uploading a lot and only get like 40-70 views too, so I don't want to sound like I am complaining. But it just doesn't seem to make much sense how I have 300 or more subscribers and yet still can have a few videos that don't even pass the 50 view mark, when other channels I see can pass that with less subscribers. Know what I am saying? And plus, on my main channel (the one you guys are calling unfocused), for the videos that do have 100,000+ and 50,000+ views, which is maybe a good 15+ videos or so, I have annotations near the end of the video directing viewers to my new channels that are more focused based on the video that they are watching. So even with a previous successful channel, that I am able to direct my audience, and sort of use as a building block I'd expect to do a lot better too, you know?
