COPYRIGHT PROBLEMS!

WickedSightArtist

I Love YTtalk
So yesterday I logged into Youtube from my laptop for the first time in ages, I began looking at my analytics and other stuff. Under the 'Video manager' section I noticed a section called 'Copyright notices' within this was a video I had filmed for my channel.

It was a remix of a fairly famous song but I'm worried this will affect my channel in the long run? I clicked on this notice and clicked 'acknowledge' the notice.. Now what happens? Should I had disputed it instead? I have no idea what happens now. Will the video be removed? Should I remove the video? It isn't intended as copyright, it's just an exisiting beat used in the background.

HELP PLEASE!!!

Hey, nothing to worry about! YouTube has an agreement with some companies to allow their users to upload content with music etc in the background. But. And a BIG BUT... You cannot monetize it as it then means your 'selling it as your own'... And for your channel, if your not partnered, and looking to be partnered, then you should remove it because some networks don't allow copyright material in your videos. Moreover, repeated violations can mean your channel being terminated... But if you dont do it again, nothing serious to worry about!

If you do not own the rights to the content, you cannot use it in your videos. I suggest deleting it, as keeping it will cause problems if you try to partner with a network. Plus, too many copyright strikes can get your channel disabled.

It`s a 3rd party match, meany a company has decided to profit off your video instead of striking it and getting it removed (for the moment , they can decide to go back and get it removed)

Yes, you should remove the video.
You can`t do a remix of a song unless you have a certain license from the original artist/label.

Thank you! It's literally just the beat used in another video, everything else in the video is original and I have the right to use everything else!

Remove the video. You dont own copyrights for it, thats what it looks like.
You cant add somone elses video to youtube. Like song from Skrillex example. Or even use that song in your videos.
Take a look what copyright means and what content you can use. Too many copyright strikes and your account will be shutdown. Also it's hard to you get partnered now

Hmm, lost in what to do right now!

I would take down the video and re upload it with content you have the rights to.
I have now taken the video down, and contacted the artist telling him why I had to remove it, and he agrred it was the best decision at this time. I can't re-upload it because the whole song was written around that background beat, but nevermind. You win some you lose some!
