Well gaming has been an over-saturated market for quite a while now. About 2-3 years ago, it seemed as if vlogging was an over-saturated market (or at least to me, it did). It's like now I'm really happy just to see a vlogger lol. In general, there's always going to be competition, no matter what you do. But there's more people now than ever on YouTube, so it will seem as if there's a ton of competition. The more people that are on the site, the more competition there is. However, that doesn't mean that you can't beat the competition. It just means to have to work harder and have the passion to go along with it. As long as you have fun doing it, it won't matter about the competition because you won't be competing anymore. It'll be about being unique and standing out because of the way you do videos. Everyone can do any type of video, but it takes a special person to make it worth watching. For example, I'm not much into gaming videos (unless it's retro games), but the way that Markiplier does his videos is why I'm still subscribed to him.
