Poop on the carpet. Then give it to youtube as a sacramental offering, and beliebe. rGreat thread, but seriously, how do I get subscribers? How do I get my name out there? Do you think I'm ugly? So many questions, so little time.
It's seems a lot of people make threads about common sense. In this thread I will be explaining how to do everything on YouTube.
Step one
Use common sense
The End.
Then again if people had common sense we probably wouldn't have all these threads about the most basic of techniques. I have a feeling that sometime soon someone joining the site will think they have a bright idea and decided to make a thread talking about how to breath.
It will probably go like this
"Breathing is so important for your channel, Unless you learn how to breath properly, you wont be able to grow a successful Youtube channel."
DPMO
Getting tired of these kids posting repeat threads and threads on things that don't need explaining.
I expected you to swoop in with something like this, and your point is about the simplicity of some people's advice they're trying to give, and on that note I AGREE! And Michael I know you try to be the most forgiving, fair, welcoming admin on the planet, and you know me man, I try to be the same, but for once in your life, can you not admit, that when you look in the portal, and practically the same title is there THREE TIMES. And someone didn't even just LOOK RIGHT. The just didn't even glance to the RIGHT. Does this not annoy you? Does NOTHING that happens on our wonderful forum annoy you? Yes we can give all the advice we want, stupid silly simple advice, it's helping, it's fine, but for the love of God man admit you hate seeing 3 posts in one hour that all say "Need thumbnails" "Network advice?" "How do I get myself out there?" I mean surely you can admit THAT annoys you even just a teensy weensy bit... either that Michael... or... you are secretly... ROBOCOP.Not everyone knows how to tag their videos correctly, use YouTube etc and not everyone requires the same advice, you wouldnt advise a beauty channel to put out a video a day like many gaming channels do, everyones channel is unique and a lot of the time a unique solution is needed.
Just because you do and plenty of others know the platform well doesnt mean there arent people out there who dont who are new to YouTube. Things that might seem like common sense to you isnt necessarily common sense to them. Its like you being a shelf stacker in Asda, you have people asking you where the Salt is, to you common sense would be to check the signs but they have come to you to help them, you dont just turn them away and tell them to read the aisle signs you take them to it.
I really cant stand seeing threads like this, common sense would be not to bother reading such threads or not bother paying attention to them if they irk you so much.
If everyone searched the search bar YTtalk would eventually become dead. Similar threads happen and are part of every forum around a specific subject.
Youre perfectly entitled to your opinions on this but I strongly disagree that people should be expected to use "common sense" if they dont understand something or need help with something and I dont think they should be mocked for it. At the end of the days whats common sense to you, might not be common sense to them.
I think they're just hoping that people will go to their channel, then come back to the thread and say "Your videos are perfect, you don't need to change anything!! Oh and btw, I subscribed because you're SOOOOOOO awesome!"That gets me so annoyed, mainly when its a post asking for help on how to grow. The amount of people who want help to grow but have just proven that they have done absolutley nothing to help themselves. If they had they would have seen the plethora of previous posts on the subject with the same repeated advice over and over
I re-read the first post, you're right I kind of missed his point. He's talking about people giving advice we all already know, but how are they supposed to know it's common sense advice? Yeah I kinda missed the point of this thread, I think the ONE thing that annoys me here is when you see the same thread repeated in the portal. I just feel like that's so lazy, it's right there in the PORTAL hahahaha but no people giving advice we've all heard before are just trying to help, and that's cool by me I just don't bother reading it cause I've heard it before.Sure some things annoy me but people asking for help doesn't because their channel is unique and a lot of the time the response should be too. This isn't about how annoying things can be it's about "common sense" and I don't believe grasping how to use YouTube is common sense, it's not exactly something everyone in the world uses from the day they are born and it's something learned.
I find newcomers asking for intros and whole graphics packages for free quite cheeky especially when they haven't put anything into the community at all and aren't offering any kind of payment but that's a whole other issue for another thread, I think it's very unfair is a better description of how i feel about that.
Seeing similar titles and threads doesn't annoy me and if it annoys others I suggest they don't read them or bother helping at all. YTtalk is a mix of seasoned users and newcomers and it's natural getting more questions from people who don't know as much about YouTube and marketing.
Rant type threads like this one annoy me because they want people to use "common sense" when these people are new to something and just learning and can't be expected to know all that much when starting out.
