A tricky part to consider with many commentary videos is obtaining appropriate rights to use the content that you are commenting on. There have been lawsuits in the past regarding commentary videos that weren't doing enough commentary during the video clips, and their "fair use" defense did not hold up.

If you talk about stuff that is pretty new and trending than yes, and if you have a pretty good voice, and don't stutter like me you can bring more people to your channel.
