I've moved this to the Strategies & Technique Advice Forum. ^^
That thumbnail and title from his is clickbait yeah, and I honestly think it is bad titling. He can make such titles because he has a following, otherwise noone would watch it. Let me adjust my conclusion here, bad clickbait will rotten a channel's reputation. This is where I disagree. Let's take Casey Neistat's video from today. If you would get on the front page of Google and if he would appear in your Recommended video section, this is what you would see -->![]()
It is a clickbait title and image. There is no way you can argue in another way. Again, it depends on how you use clickbait. Magazines and major news outlets have professional writers, who know exactly how to make a boring topic look interesting in order to grab attention. The difference to YouTuber's is, many have no idea how to a simple message or event out of their video and turn into an intriguing message. Claiming that clickbait will rotten a channel is unfounded.

If that's really the case then I take back my words on that. It just looks like there was no effort put into the title, like not even a capital letter at the beginning but that might just be my autism acting up ;DWhy? He really talked about his dog and it was a big issue for the family, it's not like a 5 second moment in the video where the dog pooped on his hand or so. He really took some time to explain what really happened. Which is by the end of the day represented in the title. But I agree with you, s****y clickbait titles will rotten your channel.
