Clickbait...

So i have this ''Problem'' that is that if you know, or watch, FIFA channels you KNOW that they pretty much all do clickbait. But the thing with me is that i really try not to. I've only uploaded one little clickbait video because it was kinda a trend atm, but haven't done one after(or before) Because i don't want to be known for doing clickbait, but everyone else is doing it and they are growing a lot from it. What should i do?

Nice channel trailer I had to drop a sub it was really well edited and funny. I would say just do you and your subs and views will come in it's kinda like that old saying if everyone jumped off a bridge would you jump with them? some people don't like clickbait videos so I would say try to avoid them as much as possible.

Great question! I agree that clickbait videos definitely get more views... but they are also getting lower quality views, because its misleading.
I suggest just making a really interesting title that is completely relevant to the video. Also make the thumbnail really enticing without misleading your audience. :D

Thanks for the tip. Really didn't think about the ''lower quality views'' so thanks for making me realise it ;)

For my genre channel i see some music channels taking advantage of clickbait thumbnails uploading hot girl thumbnails and all which i do as well once in a while but luckily for music channels it seems more acceptable its more of a problem for others i see. Thats kind of a hard one to answer actually cuz i didn't have to deal with that kind of hate so i don't know but at the same time i feel like if you can find connection between your clickbait-ish title or thumbnail along with your video then you should take advantage of it.

There is good click bait and bad clickbait. Bad click bait titles are things like "Prank gone sexual" or something like this. Things that are not really covered in the video, which can lead to people just leaving your video. On the other hand you have good clickbait titles. Check out your content, what is something that happened that might intrigue the person and make it more intriguing by choosing the right words. Just as a rule of thumb: If your content is fairly represented in the title, go for it.

Now here comes the important thing about click bait and why you should utilise it a bit. The brain of your average YouTube consumers created a loop --> Cue / Action / Reward. Clickbait and click bait thumbnails are essential because they represent the cue, that triggers the person to an action, which is the click. This is where it gets important. If your click bait title represented your content, your brain is rewarded and they are more likely to click on another video. Keep it relevant and intriguing, the trick is to find the balance. Good luck.

I have got a clear opinion but to keep it short. Clickbaiting might bring ya views but it will rotten the channel and the content. The reputation will go down at one point so keep doing it your way but try to make it interesting while also keeping it relevant!

This is where I disagree. Let's take Casey Neistat's video from today. If you would get on the front page of Google and if he would appear in your Recommended video section, this is what you would see -->

It is a clickbait title and image. There is no way you can argue in another way. Again, it depends on how you use clickbait. Magazines and major news outlets have professional writers, who know exactly how to make a boring topic look interesting in order to grab attention. The difference to YouTuber's is, many have no idea how to a simple message or event out of their video and turn into an intriguing message. Claiming that clickbait will rotten a channel is unfounded.
