Changing your channel name, what's the ramifications?

I created my channel like 10+ years ago, and just picked a name. Beruud. It was after my favorite NFL player at the time Barret Ruud. I know, don't ask why really, was just not paying attention really.

Since then I have my own persona I have created, Jay Zippo. I have been wanting to change the channel name, but am afraid of the ramifications it may cause.

Mind you my channel is dying anyways, lost over 400 subscribers in 2 years, but am tired of having Beruud, which is meaningless anymore.

Thoughts? Has anyone tried this or done this?

been thinking of doing same too changed channel name several times at about 60subs, changed topic once,,,, it's good to sit on it, think things through, if it's a large channel then can make an announcement video/stream,,, can ask your audience too,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,whats the channel about? can see? changing topic too?

Changing your channel name shouldn't be a problem because YouTube allows creators to change their channel name 3 times a year. After changing your channel name you have to wait for at least 90 days before changing it again....The ramifications is basically that your subscribers or regular viewers will be confused for a while.

For the lost of subscribers you shouldn't worry much about that because when you start uploading again your subs will go up ...hope that helps
