It is not unusual for me to get these requests.

"by the way if you could subscribe that would help me out"

Here is my typical response.

"I don't subscribe to people to 'help them out'. I subscribe to them because I want to see their content. It's your account, have fun! But in my case, it is not something that I want to see in my subscription feed."

I'd rather be honest with them. I actually USE my subscription Feed.

What do you do and what do you think about how I respond?

Well you coooooooould phrase it a little less harsh. It does come off a bit "you're stuff is rubbish"-ish.
 
Here is a typical message that I get that makes me so frustrated. I just mark them as spam and block them. I'd rather have a real subscriber and not a fake one that just wants a sub4sub.

hey nice videos definitely subing, come check out my videos and maybe give me a sub bro!

They clearly didn't watch my video because I'm not a 'bro' :cat2: and I definitely don't go around 'subing' people because they ask. These are the types of people who will probably not do well in Youtube... sub4subbers.

Relax bro, your going to strain something :)

i just ignore them, and then pity them for being desperate :)
 
i'd ignore tbh. It get's annoying. Maybe if they asked for feedback i'd go and check out what they have. But simply asking for a subscriber.... NO.
 
I would respond with exactly what you said. Subscribing doesn't help anyone out unless you actually watch the content.
 
I never plan on getting subscribers that way. Thrashimation has good content that people will want to see. It is a business and will choose its subscriptions very carefully.
 
I get these messages sometimes and it's funny how they don't actually subscribe to me!

So...
1. I see no need to RETURN THE FAVOUR as they didn't do me a favour!
2. I would rather have active subscribers than people who are just there to make the subscriber number bigger, thus I try not to do the same.
