Can a video go unviral?

Hey guys I have a video with over 7 million views (uploaded in june of 2012) and a reply video to that video of 3 million views. Up till the end of february it had a consistent daily views and then on the 25th it dropped to bassicly nothing. I have many other lesser videos that are averaging more views than it on a daily basis.

I'm really not sure what could've happened but it makes me wonder: will my other "big" videos suffer the same fate where they just drop off the radar completely? I've included an image of the occurance.

it happens to every big video dude, eventually all the people that would watch it, will have watched it. still, 7mill is a good number man nice job :D
 
It happens. Viral videos get a ton of views at the beginning and drop and drop and drop until it stays relatively the same. Still, the amount of views you got should make you happy as so many people watched it. :)

It just seems kinda odd. It has a consistent view rate for the past months but then in a single day it dropped completely to nothing. I thought it might be an algorithm change on youtube that caused a mess up but i'm not sure.

It happens though, it does. People lost interest. Your views are likely going to decrease over the months and then just stop being viral. But it does not mean its not going to go back up again.
 
All viral videos stop growing eventually, but at these numbers should lose views more slowly not so suddenly as you can see in this graph... idk nice numbers anyway :wideyed2:

Yep I understand that people will loose interest. It just seems kinda odd that all the views dropped to nothing in a single say like I said. I have a friend with a video that has 23mil views and for the past 3 years it has had a consistent 30-40k views daily.

Yea... I feel like the curve of people loosing interest should have been gradual instead of completely going away in a single day.
 
Unfortunately videos reach there peak Even viral videos a lot of small youtube channels would go crazy for 7 million views on a video so you should:) be thankful

I've never had a viral video, but my military videos seem to have stayed consistent for a long time now. I don't really understand how some videos take off in the first place. I'm not sure how, but some other videos that's nowhere near as good of a shot of CIWS shooting has millions of views. One of them the camera man moved and didn't even get a good view of the little 100 round burst and it has almost 4 million views. If you have the time, check out this person's video called "CIWS 100 round burst" that has almost 4 million views and compare it to my either one of my CIWS videos.... After that, try to explain how they have millions of views and I have so little in comparison. I'm still puzzled how some videos that are similar take off like this while some don't. It's not subscribers because they only have 102 which is not very many more than I have.
