I've Got It
So I Have a Full HD Camera I use for vlogs but it doesn't seem to have that much detail, I think it may be because of the lighting as i usually film in the evening and use lamps to light up the scene but it still doesn't look how I'd Expect.

Look at one of my vlogs and please tell me if i should use natural lighting or if they actually do look how they should?
 
The clip I looked at was grainy for HD - certainly not up to top 1080p quality.

It looks like very average 720p.

What HD format are you uploading?

The lighting shouldn't affect it to that degree, provided it's an adequate amount.

I often shoot under fluro lighting and always get top 1080p sharpness. My camera is a Nikon L820 bridge camera, similar design to yours, but with a back lit CMOS sensor and Nikon optics.

One thing I always do when shooting close up (within 12 feet approx) is to use macro mode. With a long zoom lense, I find it will make for a sharper image.

Macro is not just for extremely close work. You can also use it to get the best out a long lense at short distances.

Actually, lighting is extremely important. It can make or break video quality, but I see what you're saying. It can only do SO much...OP should work on his lighting though as the light source is a bit dim. Get some white light

Yeah, that camera doesn't have the best video quality in it's own regard. Picture/macro shots seem good, but everything else is jarred and pixelated -- even at HD.

Did you change the cam settings?
