Buying a microphone! Input?

So after about five hours of researching for a cheap but nice quality microphone I have decided to go with the BM800 Microphone.
It should arrive here in about a week. Has anyone used something similar? Everything I saw on it was that it was great for the price.
Usually you need a phantom power supply for condenser microphones (I don't know about dynamic) but a lot of people say you don't?
It's conflicting to say the least.

Condenser microphones need phantom power, dynamic microphones don't.

Here's a video that explains it better than I'd be able to:

Oh I get it out.
It seems it needs phantom power.
So I guess here is another 30 dollars ebay.

GG I should have done my research lol

This is one of those microphones I, honestly, wouldn't recommend in a million years.

It seems to be sold under many different brand names (since you can buy them cheaply in bulk, shove your crapware brand on it, and maybe make some profit), often with "dynamic condenser" in the title/name somewhere, which is literally like saying "pedal motorcycle". Looking at one on Amazon UK, it only says condenser. However, in the specs, it has this:

Neodymiun magnet for high signal-to-noise ratio

That would imply it's a dynamic microphone, not a condenser. However, looking at teardowns, it looks like an electret capsule condenser (meaning there is NO magnet, and WILL require some form of power)... so, basically, nobody selling the microphone seems to know the slightest thing about the hardware it's made up of.

If you can return it, I would really, really highly suggest you do so and get something like the CAD-U1 instead. It's the cheapest microphone I would recommend to anyone. I would link to a list of microphones and equipment I recommend, but I don't think I have enough posts yet.

The BM-800 microphone I bought is the first listing you see for it on the United States Ebay.

The seller seems reliable and gives a better description.

Although yeah, I probably should have considered a dynamic. Pretty stupid on my part.

When it get's here i'll test it out, if I hate it I have a 30 day warranty on it.

I do really like the look of the CAD-UI, i'll probably just buy that one if I return the BM-800 (probably will)

I'd suggest spending just a tad more and getting the Samson C01U($60-$70ish on a reasonable sale). It's a condenser but draws its' power from USB so you don't need an interface. You will not need to upgrade from this microphone for quite a while.

Honestly, I have to disagree with the C01U. I'd definitely recommend the ATR2100-USB over it as a good step up from the CAD U1. It's an XLR microphone, meaning you'll be able to use it with a dedicated audio interface in the future if you want to upgrade in that way, and it's a little cheaper.

I would post links to some sound samples, but... I can't yet.

It all depends on the budget. If someone is already going into the $100 range, that's a different story than someone who is looking for a sub$50 mic. When on sale for around $60, the C01U is the best thing going for the price.

Blue Snowball is a good quality low end mic. Blue Yeti has been the best mic I've used so far but the price ranges depending on where you buy.
