Blue Yeti on the way!

I've Got It
My crappy shotgun mic died on me so after much deliberation I decided to order a Blue Yeti! Since my channel is all commentary I'm hoping this mic will work out really well. Now it'll really pick up when my cat decides to meow in the middle of recording lol.

A dumb question - is it very hard to synch the audio recorded in the computer to the video recorded on my DSLR? I tend to do a few takes and put the usable bits of video together. Can I plug the Blue Yeti directly into the input on my DSLR using the headphone jack? Will I still get high quality audio?

hope yours was made better them mine and others, there just to many issues that ive found which is why I switched recently, and to sync just count down, that what I do and once I take a breath I look for the waveform and sync it to the video.

Congrats! I use a Blue Yeti and after a few technical issues when I first got it, it works great! My vids are all audio so I don't really know much about syncing audio, but best of luck to you :)

Interesting... What issues have you had with it?

I'll report back here when I get it and see how smoothly it works for me.

The audio quality was fine BUT blue does not make all the mics the same, I actually went to the store to exchange my first one and I opened up two boxes to make sure it didn't look like my first and I found out that one mic was actually taller then the other and one had a brighter silver then the other, which is telling me that they don't do quality control at all. But my experiences so far was the fact that my mic(s) has a wiggling knob on the volume control, the paint chips off the base after a few months for no reason because it just sat on my desk and I took care of it and one day it just started to chip in spots, the usb port actually failed on me during a recording and I had to wiggle it to get it back to get it to work (thats when I returned the first one) then on my second one the headphone jack ended up failing so again like the usb port and I would have to move the jack around to get sound, sometimes just in the one ear. Also I would recommend buying an extra usb wire because within the 3 months you have the mic I would recon to say that the wire will break and you will have to get a new one because the wires that come with are pretty cheap.

Thanks for the heads-up! Sounds like you had a poor experience with the Blue Yeti which sucks- hopefully I wind up with a good copy. I've accumulated a ton of mini usb cables over the years so I should be ok wire-wise.
