Hi
I have a brand new Blue Yeti microphone, I used the settings on this video:
www . youtube . com/watch?v=SNtOJD8Dclk (remove spaces)
I have the exact same mic and when I record it records extremley quiet!
Why does it record like that if Im using the exact same set up and settings as in the video?

Solution:
Alright! Its ok now, I fixed it
I set it to 10 oclock and gain on 40-50 and simply used the compressor effect in audacity with some bass and treble and it sounds great!

  1. You may sitt to far away from it (Try increasing the GAIN level (found on the microphone)
  2. See picture

What are kind of software do you use to record?

I Use audacity
My gain on the mic is at 10 oclock
and the level in the computer properties is at 20

I got mine at the lowest gain, but then again I have it close to me mouth mounted to a PSA1 Studio arm.

Ya, when I first got my blue it was a little bit on the quite side as well. I did exactly as mentioned above and just changed the recording levels to higher and it worked like a charm.

Thanks for the discussion! I will be peeking back in to see what I can learn. I bought a Blue Yeti but haven't used it yet.
