Biggest Channel Regret?

I regret that I didn't prepare enough while doing my first videos. Now if someone watches them, he might get bad impression.

I regret not starting sooner.
I've been on YouTube since 2008, but I had no idea of what it was capable of as a marketing tool. Seeing people who have done really well for themselves and found a purpose through doing videos and noting that they've been at it for years does worry me a little bit.
I mean, it could still work out as hundreds of new popular channels emerge from the woodwork every other week - but will there be more than just the "first generation" of successful YouTubers? Will they eventually retire and be replaced by a new series of people over time? Or will YouTube eventually lose its appeal?

Oh man, I couldn't agree more with all your points. Obviously I too wish I had started (or maybe just committed) sooner, but I wonder the very same thing about youtube as you. Will the business of youtube die out with with the first generation?

I also regret a Christmas Horror Short Film Anthology I made a few years ago... it was a horrible catastrophe... "the 12 Days of Creepmas" ...we outsourced a lot of the videos and had planned to act more like a distribution company, however half of the short films we were supposed to get never got done so we had to shoot a bunch ourselves last minute... it was a terrible project.

What I regret not doing was not uploading more during the time there wasn't as many people on youtube back in 2007. then coming back again in 2011 and not doing it again haha. But im back now so its all good and im ready to take on any challenge! :)

Making a long and boring video. I made an 18+ minutes long video, instead of the usual 10 minutes, and it's one of the most controversial videos of all my channel. I learned from my mistake and now never go over 10 minutes, usually hanging around the 2-4 minutes area.

This is so hard for me too, I like to talk alot especially if its about something i feel strongly about but I have gotten better I only rarely now ever go over 10 minutes the longest i have is 8-9 minutes recently. Very good point you made!

Not starting and growing with YouTube/LP series'.

I'm fighting a losing battle starting a gaming channel in October 2015, but I guess there's still room for niche markets. Regret not being there in 2005 or 2006 though and doing it from Day 1.

I think gaming channels can still be very successful if you try hard enough i think you can! :)
