Big YT View Losses for Sony & others

Has anyone else read the article about YT removing Billions of fake views from Sony, Universal, BMG etc on Daily Dot. I cannot post the link as Im sort of new here. Just go to .dailydot(DOT)com/topics/news/

I just looked at SocialBlade, Sony Lost 851 Million views and Universal lose over 1 Billion views, both on 17th Dec. Why is this not reported in the press?

It appears that YouTube now subtracts views if a video is deleted. The loss in views could easily be from deleted videos and not from botting.

Yeah, about 2 billion views down the drain. Dramatic or what. Millions of dollars worth of views if you look at the CPM.

I lost over a 1,700 views the other day from when someone view botted one of my videos from months ago because I called him out for doing it on his channel. I think he was trying to get my adsense banned (since I wasn't a partner at the time) but I disabled that s**t immediately when the views started rolling in but with no comments at all. That's great youtube did this because it pretty much proves he view botted my video since it's views are at 1,807.

i wasnt aware that they now take views off when you delete a video, well i guess now if i ever need to delete a video ill just put it as private

If it was deleted videos views I would have lost a lot more views. They removed "fake views" or view botted views.

thats interesting because my friend had his veiws took away after his videos got deleted randomly

No, that article is wrong, it's from deleted videos. Just look at mine! I lost 3,000,000 views. My most popular video has almost 1 million alone and I deleted it since it used copyrighted music and I was trying to get partnership. Not from fake views.
