Best program for thumbnails?

Rachael

I Love YTtalk
I was using Pixlr (the online editor) but the text didn't get big enough. Then I started using Vegas Pro, but I can't necessarily do everything I want to do.

Anything less complicated then Photoshop but still gets the job done (shadow, changing color, text outline, lots of different fonts) would be great.

Moved this here :)

Try Gimp, it's a bit like photoshop but not as complicated and it's free

i try gimp once and it was a mess, there were no help signs and everything was randomly place. thats why i use MAGIX photo designer 7 it can do everything photoshop can do with less hassle and its easy to understand with all the tools you need, not the whole bunch of random tool that never get used.

Paint.NET is really good I find, although i don't use it now, its free simple and a lot like Photoshop but an easier layout etc.

check it out.

I think the combination of GIMP and Inkscape will be best. Inkscape is a vector graphics program and it makes future edits and adjustments a lot easier. Inkscape handles text and object placement/alignment a lot better. I do all my photo manipulations in GIMP and then import into Inkscape to layout the thumbnail.

You can't go wrong using Picmonkey - its a website based editing suite. Really does the job IMO. Lot's of options and overlays to choose from.

It in terms of free software you can use to make these thumbnails I would say Paint.net or GIMP are your two best options :)
