Best microphone?

Hello guys,
I am looking to start YouTube and I have decided on recording device (elgato) recording software (Sony Vegas) but because there is a massive range and I've seen bad and good reviews on all microphones, I thought I would ask you guys what you think is the best microphone. I've got the money to buy a blue yeti but if you feel there is a cheaper one which is better, feel free to explain. I will be doing gaming videos and I live in the UK, if that helps.

Elgato is awesome, i have done a setup guide in the tutorials section of the forums so check it out if you want a review and stuff, also buy it from amazon it would be the cheapest, considering your small/starting out i suggest the blue snowball because its a bit cheaper than the yeti and the quality is just under the quality of the yeti, plus you would be saving money. The quality is really good on the snowball and you can use the money left on a game or some kontroll freeks or something :p. i also have a starting up guide if you wanna check that out :p

Elgato is good, erm for your microphone i'd probably go with your original choice of a Blue Yeti, maybe the snowball but not sure:)
 
I use a yeti and have done for quite a while. I know a lot of people use a yeti as it seems to be most people's first step up microphone. I quite like it tbh, Only issue I have is that it's twisters on the sides come lose after a while and you've got to tighten them which is a minor complaint as it takes seconds to tighten them

Yepperdoodle! If you're somewhat serious about making videos then you should get the best equipment that you can reasonably afford since it'll cost less in the long run. But I'd at least consider getting an XLR microphone with a USB mixer (if you can afford it) since you have a lot more options/control that way. I'm no audio expert, but from my experiences the audio quality from a XLR mic is noticeably better then USB microphones. Although most people who watch your videos probably won't notice the difference. Also having a proper quiet area to record will help more then having a really expensive set up.

You can pick up a Blue Snowball for about £40 on Ebay, I use a cheap HD Mic, however it is top notch in what it does.
 
If you are looking for cheap and affordable you cant go wrong with the Blue Snowball but the Blue Yeti sounds so beautiful and I assume that's why it is the choice for many gamers.
