Best daily-vlogging camera?

Hey everyone :)
I have been using a canon power shot to daily-vlog for over a year. I bought it refurbed from eBay and it's lasted surprisingly well! It's now started it's inevitable demise and i need to find it's replacement.
I want to upgrade to 1080p and a few people have recommended i go with a camcorder instead of a point and shoot digital camera.
I wanted a camcorder that has a flip screen such as the Toshiba Camelio P100 and my husband needs one that's Jon-proof as he drops and breaks cameras constantly! :P So he needs something rugged like the Kodak Playsport
What are everyone's thoughts? And any cheap-ish alternatives?

Well I've generally used my Canon Powershot ELPH 520 HS. I really enjoyed the quality of pictures/video/audio and it's been quite durable. I am in need of a new camera myself actually just because I've cracked the lens on it and it produces a slight blur effect on some of my video which is frustrating to see, but I wouldn't mind purchasing the same model. I guess it really depends on your preference, I notice you want a camcorder, which is perfectly fine, I just like the convenience of having it in my pocket and when I need to take a video I just pop it out. It has a relatively quick turn on/record speed which is also nice.

I've seen GoPros working very well especially for those that like to walk and talk. They're not cheap. They're small and offer a large view angle. The audio is decent as long you don't have it in the water proof housing.
