Best conference software for recording video?

My 3 brothers and I are all located in different parts of the US. Florida, New York, Massachusetts and Maine. Each of us will likely be using various webcams to connect. We want to start a vlog show. What should we use to conference together or is there a better way than using conferencing software? I was told Skype would be too unreliable and to consider using GoToMeeting. I've been researching but it's a bit overwhelming and could use advice from experience.

Nothing really wrong with Skype? A simple screen recording software such as Shadowplay, FRAPS or if you're on OSX even Quicktime's on Screen Capture function would do it. Then just open Skype in full screen and set it out how you like.
