Becoming Obsessed with Analytics

I have been checking my Youtube analytics every day - sometimes multiple times a day. I need to focus more on the creative aspect and enjoyment of making videos. I'm limiting myself to check them once a week, and I encourage you guys to do that same if you're like me!
 
I'm definitely someone who watches numbers. However, there are only so many things with your channel you can have a direct effect on, and viewership is often completely out of your control, so I try to do the same and just think of the next thing I want to make.
 
I did that some time back but that's just cause I wanna see where my viewers are from lol but yeah now I only check like once in 1 or 2 weeks.

Yep - and the problem with this is that you obsess over the minutia. Right now, you might have lost a subscriber or had a dip in views, but this week or this month, you might have performed really well. I try to limit myself to at most one check in on stats each day, and really - one thorough look each week.
 
Yea, I got VERY obsessed with the numbers and checking it constantly last year. when my channel saw a small growth. I got way too hung up on it, and obsessively pored over the data to find out if I could maintain that growth or make something out of my channel. When I couldn't, I got really discouraged and almost quit making content entirely.

Now I don't care about the numbers at all. You have so little control over views as a content creator, it's better to just not worry about it and do whatever you want...
 
I tend to check it everyday x.x I been trying to stop myself from doing it D: It's kind of hard to stop and well I feel discourage thanks to it >.< Dang it!
 
it's good to analyze the numbers, but try to relax a little and focus on the creation of your videos.
 
hey guys i was wondering i dont know why but i check my youtube analytics everyday i reallk dont know why im kind of obsessed with it now :P but i was wondering if you guys also check your analytics everyday i only do it because i just want to see how my channel is doing really.
 
Lol, every day! I check mine multiple times every day. I am however always near a computer and ma bored a lot. Perhaps its a bit of an obsession - I just like to see the views coming in. I don't have a problem.
