Becoming a partner and copyright music

Thanks for all the replies so far... :)

I was wondering if I simply don't monetise the video in question as suggested above but it probably looks as if its not worth taking the risk by removing it completely.
I didnt remove it and I had no problem. Its up to you.

About 20 of my videos contain copyrighted music that I just didnt claim.

If I read the YouTube agreement carefully. Even a video displaying part of a game or the GUI of a software application could be concidered copyright infringement.

LOOL Funny how everytime someone is genuinely asking a question about copyright, everyone just quotes YouTube Agreement/Terms, nice way to absolutelly not help the guy at ALL.

So if copyright is as strong as you claim, there can only be vloggers (and not all of them) in YouTube right? Nothing else.

To the guy who asked the question : Audio swap your videos and then after you get partnered swap them back to original and don't monetize them

Indeed, it is what you signed up for.

That they do not act instantly does not mean they will not in the future.

I have 2 videos with gangnam style that I did not claim, "they" did and see no reason to worry but, that being said, it is a risky business and one should be careful. Some third parties do not like others using their music, while some don't mind and some even encourage it. If you do not wish to have any risks at all then delete it, but again if you choose not too, there is a risk involved.

Yes you can be partnered. Since you said that there is the link to iTunes and Google Play, I'd assume youtube has matched your content automatically. This would mean you can't monetize it, even if you tried, the button to monetize it most likely isn't there as it goes to the third-party.

You're not supposed to even have it uploaded.

Uploading is breach of their copyright and any single one of them could strike your channel at any point in the future for it.
Well they claim their content and I accepted that its theirs. So I don't have the option to monetize it. And my partner manager said it was fine.

Don't assume that. Bad assumption.[DOUBLEPOST=1371107347,1371107290][/DOUBLEPOST]

:eeks:Your partner manager should NOT have recommended that to you.

In the end, it is YOUR channel and if you get in trouble you're the one stuck cleaning up the mess and feeling the consequences.

I can't even monetize the content with the copyrighted song! I cant see why I would be in trouble.
Plus I dont wanna delete my 20 videos of covers song...

Partner-support themselves told me I can just use the audio-swap option instead of delete.

You can go with the theoretical "Everything is copyrighted" from the YouTube Terms and support that 99% of content on YouTube should/will receive a strike and get sued for 100k

or

You can have a more Realistic approach, it's up to you really[DOUBLEPOST=1371116792,1371116605][/DOUBLEPOST]For a ton of stuff on the internet and on video games you must (according to the "Law"/Terms) be 18+ years old. Does that apply to real life and not theretically? No
