Banned Promotion - a compliment?

A popular forum I regularly visit has a 'Post Your YouTube Videos' thread.

Whenever I released a new video I would therefore post it in this thread, just like hundreds of others in the thread also do.

Today I got a message stating all my posts from that thread had been removed.

Why?

Because the thread is for people to show their own YouTube videos and mine appear too professional - they think Im a business and Im using them to promote my videos/channel (even though the whole point of the thread is to post your videos!).

I took it as a compliment, even though I can no longer post any videos up there!
 
I'd take it as a compliment, but I'd also fight for the right to post.

If you're a creator (like others posting)- you should have equal treatment.
 
Check their terms they might not allow commercial videos to be posted there. Technically the second you monetise them it becomes business, if you need to pay tax on your earnings as far as the government is concerned it is considered one. It is a shame you have been banned though, you could contact the owner and see if they respond.
 
I'm with Michael on this one. It might not as straight forward as it seems. So if you want to get to the bottom of it, you might have to look through their terms.

PS. This is a YouTube related post and should therefore be placed in the YouTube Chat, Gossip & Help forum and not the Chillout Room.

Ive not been banned from the site - just that thread I guess.
Its no biggie, Im not going to argue about it - not sure if I even got much in terms of activity through there, just a little taken aback that they removed my videos for being 'too professional'! :)
