Backup Videos!

We try to upload every week but we take into account that some weeks we might not be able to film. So whenever we have extra time, we shoot an extra video, that we can save for weeks when we cannot film. Meaning, some weeks we might shoot two videos to make up for a week we cannot shoot. So for example, our latest video was actually shot two weeks ago, and instead of uploading it as soon as we finished it we held onto to release it this week. This has saved us from soooo much stress.

So basically if you can, its good to always have an extra video waiting, just incase life happens and you are unable to release a video on its scheduled date. This will keep you from missing an upload!

It will also help you from having to rush a video to get it out on time! If you don't think your video is ready to upload , DO NOT RUSH IT, just use your back up video ;)

I completely agree. Some days I am on a roll and crank out 2 or 3 videos. I try to give each video a couple days to shine on its own before I bury it with more videos. Sometimes I have a couple videos waiting in the wings and it does really help.

I tend to record all of my footage in batches, I don't have time to record and edit every night so when I get chance I can record up to 5 pieces of footage usually at a time, then edit and schedule over a number of days.

I really need to get to the point where I can do this, because I'm constantly rushing to get the next video recorded and edited before the deadline. Having a little bit of breathing room would be fantastic.

I've started recording in bulk for this reason. It also has the side effect that it means because I'm not necessarily trying to rush to record every day, I can pick a time when I'm really in the mood for recording and feeling great - and all the videos I record in that time end up being my highest quality possible.

I also have designed my schedule specifically to allow me flexibility. Rather than something as unspecific as "I upload some each week", or something as specific as "I upload on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays", mine is a combination of the two. "I upload on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and occasionally some additional bonus videos." - That way in theory I only need 2 videos ready each week, but if I have extra time that week I'll upload more.

When it comes to my scheduling, what I always do is check: Do I have at least 2 videos ready? If not, I either have to record more, or wait until it's either Wednesday or Saturday to release the video. That way I'm never short of videos on my actual scheduled days. If I have 2+ videos ready and queued though, then I can upload and release one of them on any day, since I still have at least 1 left and ready for my next scheduled day. Hope that makes sense, doing it this way massively lowers the stress of having a schedule to stick to for me :)
