So I've just been filming in a set up like so; (beautiful screenshot, I know cx)

but I was wondering if I should stay there or film in front of a blank wall?
In vlogs do you prefer backgrounds or just something blank?

The more professional I think is a plain wall background if you have one, or Get a green screen or cloth of some sort and stand in front of that.

Personally I feel that most videos of someone inside should be shoot with the person standing in a corner of the room in the background with objects. This gives a lot more dimension to the video and stops it looking 2d.

Or at least have the camera on an angle to the wall. Instead of having it just facing the wall dead on.[DOUBLEPOST=1429041856,1429041807][/DOUBLEPOST]Also.. that screenshot is nice. But it looks like you're looking up to the camera? Don't do that. have the camera t eye level. This will look a lot nicer.

@Andrew Flint
Thank you, deary for the amazing advice!
I've been experimenting a bit with backgrounds and camera angles, and haven't quite found the best one yet. I'll certainly be adjusting my camera down though!
As for the camera on an angle to a wall, do you have any sort of visual example? Sorry if I'm being a bit bothersome for asking, but I just want to make sure I'm understanding it right. cx

As you can see in these screenshots, the camera is at eye level, there is some sort of corner in the background (you can see 2 different walls). The subject is dead on, but their desk/wall is at an angle.

It gives the room they're in more depth.

P.S. the only time I would say having the camera higher then eye level is okay (while looking up at the camera) is if you're taking a wider angle, with about 1/2 a foot of headroom and getting all of the torso in shot. This will look alright if you have the camera around 1/2 a foot above your eye level. Look up DavidSoComedy. This is how he has his camera set up. Looks okay.
