Audacity export question

Hey!

I was just wondering, what is the best option to use when exporting audio when using audacity? I currently export in the default WAV 16Bit, but wondering is there a preferred option amongst other YouTubers, or something I might be missing out on?

Thanks for your help! :)

I currently don't use audacity yet, but I'm am gonna start, But there are probably a bunch of tutorials that I will be watching myself xd

Great and handy program, I mainly use it for background noise clean ups and things like that as I haven't got the budget for expensive microphones as of yet. XD

Yeah, Audacity is great. I use it whenever I do any VO/commentaries. It is great to get rid of background noise and great to cut out what you do not need. Depending on what you're doing, it is also easier to use. I have always exported my Audacity audio at default settings and everything was fine.

I usually export in .mp3 320kbps. It compresses the audio a bit and keeps a good amount of quality to it, but I only use that to save space when importing into projects and keeping the file size low

WAV is probably the simplest and quickest export and you shouldn't run into any issues. The only issue I can think of would be space, since WAV is lossless it can take up a good chunk. If you're trying to save space, download the LAME codec so you can export MP3. Choose 320 Kbps just to play it safe. You're not gonna lose much quality since YouTube is a lesser quality anyway, and you'll save a bunch of space!
