Got my exam on Monday and am super nervous! Anyone got their Avid certification yet and can offer advice? I find the practise one (the 20 questions) not a very good representation of the full 60 questions -_-
I've never even heard of Avid xD But I wish you good luck! <3

They develop high end video and audio production software.
Good luck with it, never used Avid so can't give you any tips.![]()

Yeah I study film at uni so I took it as a module so that I could get the certificate just so I'm not limited for job choices! Plus I like video editing normally...but before now I've been using premiere pro....kinda similar but avid is way more complex as I'm sure you'll know! If you wanna test yourself a bit on the knowledge and terminology side you can take the practice test! It's on avid's site or just google 'avid practice exam' and it should be like the first oneI always used Avid pro for vocal recording. Didn't take any special studies for it kinda developed it on my own all the way to advanced level. Its more of mixing and mastering knowledge than understanding the software atleast to me. I'd like to test myself though curious to know how i'd do. Wish you luck!

Exactly! But I guess it's good that avid want you to know both in order to be certified...like so many people just do the editing without really understanding it which kinda sucks! But I guess it means it's more accessible for people...especially non film makers ^_^[DOUBLEPOST=1414896121][/DOUBLEPOST]Ah, I see. It's like speaking a language but not knowing how to write it xD

Yeah they use it for big professional productions...it's like the industry standard editing softwareIsn't Avid what they use in news production? Or I guess they have a suite for just about everything it seems.
