Amazon competing with YouTube

They did something similar by competing with Ebay when they started allowing people to sell their goods via their marketplace and it has been successful.

Any competition has to be a good thing so I'm all for it

FINALLY youtube has a rival and maby they will start doing stuff (not likely still) But seeing amazons support and how they handle things I believe I would go to amazon also depending on the agreements and such.

Unless the majority of the big YouTubers will start using this,which they wont, it will flop.

YouTube has become a stable way for income for a lot and people wont adveture their income swtiching to something new. Especially since YouTube is bigger than ever.

Content would be offered via Amazon instant video. There would probably be tiers, so some content would be behind a paywall, while others would be free. No one will be able to give you any more details than this without breaking NDA.

I am totally going to! It's nice to see competition, plus it'll be a new community & everyone is going to be relatively new.

Don't expect to see anything until the middle of next year. Vidcon would be the most optimistic launch date, but I would guess that Amazon will use Vidcon more for recruiting than launching.

Competition is definitely good. I don't know a lot of people that would jump ship for Amazon. I mean if it was a choice between the two I think most people that have had success on Youtube would stick around. If you could share on both however it would make sense as another form of advertising.
So many new things...my head may explode.
