Am I YouTube "Famous"?

Grats on 120k!
I remember how famous I felt when I had 50-100 subs in 2009, I did a lot of sub4sub back then though, but those people actually watched my videos.
I have no idea when you're famous or not, I know that most of the popular YouTubers dislike being called famous and I thought that they said that they didn't want to be treated as celebrities (not sure if they said it) But I understand that because I'm sure that most celebs dislike being famous as well.
But I don't know when you're famous or not because you can, for example, play in various movies and tv shows and still be unknown, even if a lot of people have seen the movie or show.

No you're not famous. And that's a good thing! I'd imagine the top 100 You Tubers could toss on a baseball cap and glasses and go unnoticed if they wanted to. Gatherings like Vidcon would be a different story though. >.>

Being YouTube famous isn't just about subscriber count. It's about how well known you are outside of YouTube. We're past 300k subs and get recognized outside of YouTube on a regular basis, but I wouldn't say we're anywhere close to YouTube famous and we probably never will be. Rebecca Black had that kind of fame well before she hit 100k subs just because of that one awful song.

Yeah, I was going to make the Vidcon point too. I bet someone with 120k subs would get noticed there. Aside from that, I wouldn't know how to define YouTube famous.
