Well these are the requirements for it from the youtube blog :)

How do I get a verified name for my channel?
YouTube channels get the verified name tick if they are linked to a verified Google+ page or profile. Learn more about linking your Channel with a Google identity.

Verification for Google+ is available to a wide range of businesses and organisations, with some requirements for eligibility:

  • Your Google+ page must be authorised by your commercial entity, organisation, brand or product.
  • Your Google+ page must contain a link to your organisation’s website. Your organisation's website must be connected to your Google+ page, by adding the Google+ badge or by adding a snippet of code.
  • Your Google+ page must already have a meaningful number of followers.
If you have a YouTube partner manager, contact them to request name verification.

I know, I read that, maybe I'm getting closer to it :3

I'd think +1 counts as it considering it shows up on the page, since it says have a meaning number of followers it could mean 10,000 in their language but since it's google+ you're probably pretty close :)
 
Youtube sent me an email a while ago, or maybe it was a contact notification I can't remember. But they said that I was now a verified channel. But I don't see the tag or anything so maybe it was a mistake... Google+ is so confusing.

May I ask how the hell you got so many +1's?
