So i see on the forums people asking what is the best video editing software or wondering what programs they would need to do a certain task. Ill make a list of basic programs i know of,what they do, and the difficulty it is to learn them! Hope this helps!
Adobe Premier:
Difficulty Level: 4/10
Variants: Final Cut Pro (For Mac User) - Sony Vegas, Pinnacle Studio, Windows Live Movie Maker
Description: Adobe Premier is apart of the Adobe Master Collection Suite. Which you can download and try for free. Although you can also buy a standalone copy of it. Adobe Premier is a program where you can drag all your footage in and Tweak, Cut, Trim, Add sound and do some simple color correcting. All around it is a powerful program and perfect for people who need a video editing program that wont fail them.
Adobe After Effects:
Difficulty Level: 7/10
Description: Here we Adobe After Effects, another program from the Adobe Master Collection Suite. After Effects would have to fall into the group of one of the mosts powerful VFX programs i have worked with. After Effects is a program where you can bring in footage and add basic to advanced effects to it. Such as Gunshots (Muzzle Flashes), Lighting, Explosions, Energy Balls, or really anything you want. When you first open the program you will be pretty intimidated. Believe me i was too. But when you got Andrew Kramer helping you out and teaching in step by step tutorials at Videocopilot.com, showing you how to add explosions and sweet effects to your video. Everything gets much easier.
Cinema 4D:
Variants:Maya AutoDesk - 3Ds Max
Difficulty Level: 8/10
Description: Cinema 4D is a 3D modeling program where you can Mold, Build, and create 3D objects, structures, characters, or even VFX to add 3D Effects to your video. You can animate anything and everything you want from the lighting, to your camera in the scene. Its a great program and worth learning. You can get a FREE student edition of the program
DaVinci Resolve Lite:
Difficulty Level: 6/10
Description: DaVinci Resolve Lite is a more advanced color correcting program where you can you pull your video clips in and really get the color you are looking for. It is a free program if you choose to get the Lite version.
Vue-xStream
Difficulty Level: 5/10
Description: Vue-xStream is a program where you can build 3D environmental areas. Add land, water, trees, plants, grass, buildings, planets, suns, clouds, mountains. Anything you desire. You can also import your 3D designs from external programs into it.
After Effects Stock footage packs to look into:
- Action Essentials
- No Control Cinema (NCC) - Awesome PackCinema 4D plugins to look into:
- TurbulenceFD (Create 3D fire, smoke, etc..)
- Thrausi (Break and Shatter objects)
- Realflow (Create liquid Simulations)
Game Recording and Ratings:
Rating Scale: 1 = Bad / 10 = Best

Rating: 7/10
If you have a good computer and have good FPS in game i would suggest fraps. It has minimal-Medium FPS drop and isnt high in price. Great place to start.
HDPVR Gaming Edition:
Rating: 9.5/10
This guy goes for about $150 on Amazon. It records anything that can be viewed on a Xbox 360, Ps3, PC or even Wii in 1080p HD with absolutely no drop or loss in FPS or performance.
