Advice for YouTubers with no motivation.

These tipps are so true and helpful, thanks for sharing! I agree with the consistency and the taking breaks thing as well. Both are necessary. Will focus on consistency, but like some people said, in the end I would vote quality over quantity, so brekas are definitely needed and must be taken, when needed. For sure

As an educational channel, one thing that really motivates me is when I get a comment like "Thanks! This really helped me!". Words cannot describe how amazing that feels for me despite how insignificant it may sound.

Yusef472, I've to agree with you, I also very proud when someone thanks and appreciate my video.

My part of Controller Break is to focus on our content(the others handle social). So I edit our "breakdown/best of" video every month. We record our gaming commentary videos in two week blocks. 22 videos for 2 weeks, so max of 44 per month. Our videos are around 17-20 minutes so I have to go through the upper part of 12 and a half hours worth of footage to select highlights. By the end of this, I'm dead as a doornail. I think we suck, nothing we say is funny, it's just endless drivel and at that point I've noticed so many inconsistencies and mistakes. I feel so bad about our highlight reel and that it'll never hold up. My motivation is dead.

Despite what I just said, it ends up being our monthly "breakdown" that keeps me fully motivated. The next day I feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle another month. The reason why is because several things happens when you review all your videos at once.

1. You notice the mistakes and the "not so good" parts:
Whenever I see a bad video I just see something we can improve. I see thumbnails that work/don't work, intros that set up the video well/drop the ball, commentary that carries well/ is boring and stale. I analyze as much as I can and at the end of all this I know the next video and everything past it is going to be on another level. So that builds confidence.

2. You get to remember your best moments and see how far you've come!
I get to remember why we enjoy recording and creating. Videos I forgot about I get to see again and I get to see the fruit of our labors! Normally after a day or two I watch the "breakdown" video again and I love every second of it.

In the end you just have to have confidence in what you do and if you don't change it till you do. We love what we create so even if we are small right now it just feels great getting one more regular view each week. We address people in our videos like we are welcoming back an old friend and we've been seeing steady increasing growth because of that.

I lost motivation on YouTube something because of subs but I listen to my audience to buy a new mic for my commentary. I think the key thing is to listen to feedback

Stay motivated is very difficult.
I have tagged videos, and shared them on social networks. Got a few video and i mean only a few.
Still siting at 0 subs. Its SO depressing. I never thought that it would be this difficult.
