Advertizing a video

So, I was wondering how advertizing of a video through Google AdSense works?
Like, you will see a advertized video in the bar next to a video you're watching.

Is it very expensive? I would just like to know as much I can about it before I do anyhing x3

You can limit how much you're willing to spend 'per click'. The more money per click, the more likely people are to see your advert. Of course this means that you have to spend more in order to get decent impressions.

$20 will get you about 100 views. It really isn't worth it.

Keep in mind that Google takes enough money to pay not only themselves, but also the content creators. For businesses with services/hard goods for sale, the high dollar amount can be justifiable, but for growing a YouTube channel as a content creator, there are much better venues to do so. Two best things I can recommend are creating quality content and collaborate often. A solid half of my channel GizmoSlip's subscribers (100k subs) are because were able to use our skills in slow motion cinematography to help other larger channels create awesome content. Never be afraid to work with other people towards similar goals.
