Adobe Premiere Question

Hey all,

I've been going through some Adobe Premiere Pro training, but I'm trying to figure out how I'd manage an edit like this:

Basically, a version of an L cut, but where the audio overlaps, rather than doing a hard cut. From what I understand, this wouldn't be possible in Premiere without moving the audio to a new track for every single cut (which, at 50-70 cuts per video), would mean a ton of overhead.

Am I perhaps missing something?

Thanks in advance!

I got nuffin' 'gainst Final Cut Pro! I was looking at Premiere just because of its tighter integration with other software. But honestly, the overhead to trimming is a dealkiller.

Right, but then I'd have to go through and move the audio to the other track for every single edit, no?
You can alternate between just two tracks but you have to use the method L cut J cut LJLJLJLJLJ it will create a pattern that only takes up 2 tracks but the down side is you have to unlink all your video and audio tracks so if your not carfull you may end up with unsyched audio and video.

You wouldn't have to unlink them. If you just option-click and drag the audio to a separate track, they'll remain linked. It's just a major pain to do that for every alternate clip.

'Im saying you would have to unlink them for the method I described if you only want 2 tracks.
