Adobe is shutting down the authenticagtion servers that are used for CS2 version of Adobe software. As a result, they've opened up download links for those who own CS2.
Then they made it free to anyone who made an account. And after their servers crashed, they removed that restriction too.
For YouTubers you will find Audition (audio recording), Photoshop (Thumbnail creation) and Premiere (video editing) extremely helpful. And you can't beat free legit right from the source.

Well generally the higher number means a newer version which would have more features. However once must consider free versus $$$.

CS2 was a 2005 release
Most YouTubers pirate Adobe products. This is a good way for them to have legit copies.
I run CS6 myself but I was able to write it off as a business expense for another purpose.
CS2 will handle almost anything a YouTuber would need.
