Adding Locations to videos?

I've always seen the option of adding a location to a video when uploading it (Under the advanced settings, if you've never seen it) but never understood it. I presume it must serve a purpose, does anyone know what that purpose is?

I think it's the same purpose as adding geo-tags to your photos, a feature that a lot of cameras have. Basically you can see the exact place where the photo was taken. I don't see the added value tho, certainly not for videos. At least not in my case

I'm guessing it could work like an extra set of tags? You could save space for more tags by adding London as a video location, instead of having it in your tags maybe? Other than that, I have no clue.

I am pretty sure I have seen @derraleves recommend using it before but I have to admit I have very rarely used it.
