100% restricted topics

Hey everyone! So I wanted to share some of my thoughts and hear some opinions. In my travels as a lad I have found that their are a few topics that are always bound to create arguments that I will never want to argue. This would be politics and religion. I will never create a video on them, give my opinion on them, etc. It's just one of those things I absolutely refuse to do. Everything else is fair game.

How about you guys? Are there any things that you refuse to talk about in your videos? Let me know what your guys thoughts are!
 
I'm kind of the opposite. Mostly all I ever want to do on YouTube is talk politics. I'm happy to live and let live in terms of religion --as long as religion is happy to live and let live and isn't all "kill the non-believers". There was a recent video called "BE HATED" posted by 2veritasium which pretty much sums up my exact views on talking politics.

I just watched a bit of that Be Hated video you referred to, and I agree with his points. I have no problem taking a stand on opinions and having a voice, but then it gets in to what I feel very strongly about and whether or not something I would even want to voice an opinion about. For example: I'll debate all day why marijuana should be legal or why the minimum wage should be raised, but not about whether democrats or republicans are better. It's simply because I don't really care for politics or religion as heavily as I do other subjects and honestly don't feel like getting chastised I could care less about in the first place.

But I get that everyone has their own opinions and I can respect and understand that.

I don't really do opinionated videos (mine are mainly technology how to videos), but if I did I would avoid the topics you mentioned, there are just too many stupid people willing to argue for no reason over those topics.

Well that just makes sense. Everyone should be willing to debate the topics they feel are important and unwilling to debate over topics that seem unimportant. I can totally see why people do not feel compelled to argue on behalf of Democrats or Republicans. I do hold the view that Democrats are better that Republicans, but in much the same way that a guy that quietly makes off with your wallet is "better" than a guy that punches you in the face and makes off with your wallet in your car that they then crash into your neighbor's house.
 
Whenever something has to do with religion i always say i'm more of a spiritual person cuz theres no other way i would describe it. And i don't care what you believe or not i treat everyone the same. And when it comes to politics i'm completely unaware of whats going on because i'm not interested at all lol
 
If you're passionate about a topic and have a strong opinion then I don't think it's a bad thing to want to share that. It's a good way to open up the comment section for discussion and show your audience that you do have an interest in what they have to say. If you have a controversial opinion then you might even attract some more views so win = win :)
 
If you post a video about religion you're guaranteed to get a considerable amount of views and people who will storm your video with arguments you will most certainly find funny.
 
I've done both (religion and politics!) and I'm still alive, I'd never want to be in a position where I can't express whatever is going on in my mind. ;)
