I just bought a Manfrotto 323 Quick Release Adapter for my Benro S8 head and I am having a bit of trouble, the whole point of getting the Manfrotto Quick Release Adapter was to allow me to have some height above the tripod so I can get a power lead into the bottom of the camera since it takes power from through the battery door. This would have been the perfect solution by rising the camera half an inch or so to allow clearance but I didnt consider that the tripod heads width would pose an issue since the QR plate locking mechanism drops down a few millimetres meaning it wont sit flush with the head.
Now I believe what I need is a longer screw for the Benro QR plate so that it will allow some room for a piece of 1/2" rubber with a hole drilled through it to raise it even more the trouble is I cant find any longer 1/4" screws on ebay and it seems I need something that will fit through the thickness of the plate, pass through the 1/2" of rubber and then screw into the Manfrotto QR adapter.
Does anyone know if this is the best way to go about it or is there some sort of official rising rubber piece and screw to lift the camera from being completely flush with Benro QR plate? I hope someone else has sorted out a similar issue before.
Here is the longest one I can find on ebay but its shafts length is 17mm and thats not enough. I think I need to find out the thickness of the Benro plate + 1/2" of rubber + depth of Manfrotto 323 QR Adapter screw socket and find a screw with a suitable shaft length.

Thanks for any help with this.
