Thoughts/ tips on new End Screens Feature?

Its kind of achieving what we have been doing with annotations but making it a lot easier and less time consumer which I'm glad about.

But annotations works only in desktop, where as End Screen works in both desktop and mobile screens. I think that's the key difference. Quoting from YouTube blog post:

Currently, many creators use Annotations, a desktop-only tool that allows you to add clickable links to your videos, to manually create end screens. This will no longer be necessary, as the new End Screens are not only easier to create, but also allow you to reach more viewers on desktop and mobile

Yes you are right, it will be really interesting to compare the analytics in a few months to see if engagment figures are boosted.

Annotations has to go away and get replaced with End Screens. I don't see any reason for using annotations from now on. The number of views from mobile devices are more than PC, so it makes sense for end screens.

Yes and the interesting thing is that this is not new, mobile devices have been dominating views for a while now amd youtube is finally catering for them, so perhaps creators will see a boost in viewer engagement/ subscriptions as a result.

I use the most basic 'latest video' End Screen and have seen great success so far.

What happens when viewer plays a video and keeps going one after the other video of your channel? How does "Latest video" option behave in this case?

It is so simple. I love it, it saves so much time not having to photoshop my own endscreen anymore. I found it really easy to figure out, its super similar to annotations. :)

I'm having a few problems with this (that I've reported to support) When I add a link to my website and change the thumbnail image, it just displays as a grey "missing image" icon. I can save the changes. There are no error message. The clickable link works. It clicks through to my site but the image is not showing. It was working fine yesterday on a test video so it looks like a bug. I've reported it to via email so hopefully it'll get resolved asap.

It always shows the last video that has been uploaded, so it'd show the same video until you upload a new video. It's not the "video previous to the one being watched" if you see what I mean.
