song parodies and copy write strikes?

So if I decided I want to do song parodies, would I stay out of trouble as long as I don't monatize those videos, or is it possible to get a copy write strike anyway?

As long as it's a parody you're good to monetize and everything. Just make sure you're changing at least the lyics in most or all of the song and not only a tiny portion of it.

I am not even sure putting parodies on my channel is worth the extra risk of hassle to me but, if I go that direction, I don't think I will monitize. Unless, of coarse, my parodies became popular enough that it seemed worth the trouble to contact the powers that be to seek permission. I really don't know that I see that happening.
