Hey guys!
I'm primarily a mobile gamer, and have amassed a decently sized audience for my time here. I mess around with different types of content from time to time, and am starting to feel I want to do more and more "different" stuff.
I have a lot of.. like pros and cons personally regarding the subject, so I'm reaching out for another perspective.
Pros to a second channel:
Different channel name that better reflects the content (I know I could change my current one, but I don't really want to as it's sort of a brand across all of my social medias).
Not having to deal with current subscriber backlash.
Would most likely be better for the first channel, as it would be more consistent in content. I believe having "different" content would either slow down subscriber growth or make your subscribers "less valuable" since they may only like one thing or the other.
Cons to a second channel:
The obvious starting over aspect (may get a little boost from current subscribers).
Would require more work for less initial returns.
Then I think about people like PewDiePie who totally changed their content (almost never does gaming anymore) and then I wonder if he was simply big enough to survive such a shift. At least 80% of my fan base is there for the mobile games, so just changing content like that, I may as well delete the channel.
Ugh, I'm notorious for over-thinking things I guess, and I don't really expect people to spend their time reading this book, but some suggestions, your thoughts, advice or so would be appreciated.
Thanks!
